Monthly vs Yearly Hosting Plans for New Blogs – What’s Better?

Hey everyone!
I'm starting a new blog and currently exploring paid hosting options. I’ve noticed that most providers offer heavy discounts on yearly plans, while monthly plans give more flexibility but at a higher cost per month.
As a beginner, I’m unsure how long it’ll take to grow traffic or even stick with the same host. A yearly plan seems like a good deal, but I’m worried about being locked in if things don’t go as planned or if I want to switch hosts later.
On the other hand, a monthly plan offers the freedom to test and move, but the price difference is significant.
So, I’d love to hear from experienced bloggers and hosting users:
What did you choose when starting your blog—monthly or yearly? What would you recommend for someone just starting out?
Looking forward to your insights!
